Upcoming stops of the advisory bus of Liikkuva resurssikeskus

Visit the advisory bus of Liikkuva resurssikeskus [mobile resource centre] to meet representatives of the Older People’s Council. In addition, a worker from the mobile resource centre of Turun Lähimmäispalveluyhdistys will be present, as well as a service coordinator for the elderly from Varha’s customer guidance. They offer information on Varha’s home services and opportunities for voluntary activities. If necessary, one-on-one guidance can be provided.

The activities of the Older People’s Council are based on the Act on Supporting the Functional Capacity of the Older Population and on Social and Health Care Services for Older Persons.

This is what we do

The Older People’s Councils operate under the local executive, and their members are elected among representatives of key pensioner organisations. The Councils assess the adequacy and quality of services for older people and have extensive impact in the municipality.

The municipality must ensure the operating conditions of the Older People’s Councils, such as the appointment of a secretary, the organisation of meeting facilities and the provision of a budget.

Communication and information are an integral part of the Older People’s Council’s activities. Only by active communications can the Council act effectively and achieve its objectives.
