In accordance with the Local Government Act, the Employment Area Committee operates as a part of the City of Turku organisation. The Employment Area Committee acts as a joint multi-member body and employment authority for the parties to the employment area cooperation agreement.
The Turku employment area includes 23 municipalities: Turku, Aura, Kaarina, Kemiönsaari, Kustavi, Laitila, Lieto, Loimaa, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Oripää, Paimio, Parainen, Pyhäranta, Pöytyä, Raisio, Rusko, Sauvo, Taivassalo, Uusikaupunki and Vehmaa.
The committee has 13 members. Each member has a personal deputy.
