What is open early childhood education and care?
Your child can take part in open early childhood education activities. These include playground activities, outdoor and indoor playschools, and open day cares.
Playschools
In playschools your 3–5-year-old child can take part in organised and purposeful activities planned and organised by the playschool teacher. If needed, there may be other staff also participating. Having a place in a playschool does not affect the day care allowances of Kela.
Open day cares
Open day cares welcome children of all ages accompanied by a guardian or another adult. In open day care your child can take part in organised activities or play freely. The adults have a chance to get to know other guardians and adults living in the area.
For what age group are open ECEC activities?
Open early childhood education activities are intended for children aged between 0–5.
