Information for grant recipients
Payment
We will pay the grant or subsidy when the decision has become legally valid.
The owner of the bank account must be the same as the party applying for the grant. Grants designated for associations cannot be paid to private individuals’ personal accounts. The city pays the grant awarded to a working group either to the group’s account or to the applicant’s personal account. In the latter case, the applicant is personally responsible for the use of the grant and the reporting.
Use of the grant or subsidy
The grant or subsidy must be used for the purpose it was awarded for and within the calendar year it was granted.
Change of purpose and return of grant or subsidy
If the awarded grant or subsidy cannot be used for its intended purpose, the recipient must return the grant or subsidy, either in full or in part. The recipient may also submit a written request to the Cultural Committee in advance to change the intended use. The city will recover any misused grant or subsidy.
Tendering (Act on Public Contracts 348/2007)
The grant recipient must adhere to the public procurement regulations when buying goods or services from private suppliers. The Act also applies to purchases by private organisations if more than half of the purchase value is covered by a grant.
Logos and communication
Grant recipients must use the City of Turku logo in their communications.
You can download the logo from the City of Turku media bank: Media bank
Report on the use of a grant or subsidy
Those who have received a grant or subsidy must submit a report on its use to the Cultural Committee.
Add the reports and the necessary attachments to the grant application in the City of Turku grant system Go to the grant system (in Finnish or Swedish)
Working groups and individuals
Private individuals and working groups that are not registered associations must submit the report by the last day of the grant year.
Include a free-form description of the work performed, a report outlining the actual work and costs, signed by the applicant, along with supporting documentation of the work (such as photographs, reviews, or newspaper clippings).
Registered associations
Registered associations must submit the report by the end of June in the year following the grant year.
Include the association’s financial statements, signed by the responsible individuals, as well as the association’s annual report. Grants awarded by the Cultural Committee, along with other general grants, must be listed separately on the revenue side of the financial statements. Itemise any other grants and subsidies received in the notes.
Incomplete reports
If you fail to submit a report, or if it is incomplete, we may recover the grant or subsidy in full or in part. An incomplete report may also prevent the approval of future grants or subsidies.
We monitor the use of grants annually and may conduct more detailed audits of the activities and finances of each recipient.
