Team from Turku Selected as Winner of the Beyond 2030 Challenge Science Competition

The winning team of the Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition organised by the City of Turku and Bayer Nordic is Voittamattomat (“the Invincibles”) from Turun Suomalaisen Yhteiskoulun lukio (Turun Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu Upper Secondary School). The winners were awarded in the award gala organised on 14 January.

The Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition has proceeded to the project phase, The Competition Introduces Future Makers for the Fields of Technology and Natural Sciences

​​​​​​​The Beyond 2030 Challenge science competition organised by the City of Turku and Bayer has proceeded to the project phase. The competition began in August and 41 teams registered by the deadline with their project ideas. The jury selected 24 best projects to proceed to the actual project phase. The competition raised interest both in vocational education and in upper secondary education.

New Kinds of Activities Offered for Adolescents Throughout Summer

After easing of coronavirus restrictions, the City of Turku Youth Services arrange a variety of new kinds of summer activities. Open youth facility activities are offered between 1 June and 31 July and e-services for adolescents initiated over the spring continue.

Almost All Basic Education Pupils in Turku Returned to Contact Teaching – Distance Teaching Mainly a Positive Experience

Contact teaching for pupils in grades 1-9 in comprehensive schools in Turku started on Thursday 14 May. Compared to normal, approximately 85 per cent of students were present. Schools applied stricter safety and hygiene policies than normal, in accordance with national recommendations. This affected, for instance, the placing of school desks, recess arrangements and school meal practices.
