Background information about the service
A permanent right for a joint-use area (easement) for a plot may be established in the area of another plot. An easement means a permanent right to an area required for a road, keeping of a vehicle, or the right to place the equipment and structures required for water pipes, sewage handling or electricity cables.
The easements are established on the owner's application in connection with parcelling or in a separate easement survey.
Within the local detailed plans in cities, the local authority is often responsible for the establishment of easements and cadastre maintenance. In other areas, these are the responsibility of the National Land Survey of Finland.
