Applying for a grant
Who can get a grant?
Grants can be awarded to Turku-based athletes aged 13–20 or teams of athletes within the same age range who have achieved success this year at the national, international or world championship level. The application can be submitted by a club, an association that organises physical activity, or a private individual.
Joukkueen jäsenistä yli 50 % on oltava turkulaisia.
When to submit the grant application?
Apply for the grant between 1 March and 15 November if the athlete or team has achieved success between 1 January and 15 November.
If an athlete or team achieves success at the end of the year after the application period, specifically between 16 November and 31 December, the Director of Sports Services can make the grant decision. In such cases, submit the application no later than 31 December, and fill in the form Young athlete’s grant (end of year).
How is the grant amount determined?
We award grants based on national or international success achieved during the current year. The grant amount depends on the success achieved by the athlete or team. We pay the grant based on the highest level of success achieved.
The amount of funding allocated to each team is affected by the number of athletes who qualify for the grant, which is determined by their home municipality and age. In team sports, we consider each individual only once per year.
