During the summer of 2021 you can run into artists from different fields of art in the Adventure park area! On the weekdays, Seikkis’ own Park Artists Karkki, Nella and Minka come up with all sorts of exciting creative experiences and adventures to participate in. In general, park artists can be encountered between 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm, but they don’t have a specific schedule so the encounters remain surprises!
In addition, various different visiting artists can be seen in the Adventure Park.

Shared-use vehicles have arrived in Turku to facilitate the movement of the city’s residents. The new types of transport enable the combination of different modes of transport: for example, you can take the first part of your journey on a Föli bus and then continue on an electric scooter or city bike. Renting a vehicle is ecological and there is plenty of choice in the shared-use vehicles for different needs.

Day activities for persons with severely disabilities
Day activities for persons with severe disabilities are intended for those who are unable to participate in other work activities due to a very severe disability or illness. Day activities that support self-sufficiency can include cooking, exercise, conversation, camping, creative activities and the practice of social skills.
Housing services are provided to persons with an intellectual disability tailored to the person's individual needs. When assessing housing options, the person's need for help, care and guidance in daily life is taken into account.
Services can be provided in different housing units, group homes and residential care facilities, or as a service to one’s own home.
The City of Turku Oral Health Care unit invites pupils for an oral health check when they are in their 1st, 5th and 8th years at school. In addition young people are invited for an oral health examination at the age of 16.
The intervals between examinations and treatments may be more frequent depending on the individual’s need as assessed by an oral health professional. We carry out examinations at dental clinics as well as in mobile units at schools.
Personal assistance is provided to a person with a severe disability who needs the assistance of another person in their daily activities:
- to work and study
- to participate in hobbies
- to participate in society, or
- to maintain social interactions.
You can apply for personal assistance at the city's services for the disabled. The social worker evaluates the way the service is implemented in cooperation with the client. Different practices can be combined.
A transport service covers an ordinary taxi or a disabled taxi.
You can apply for the transport service at the services for the disabled. The telephone service to book an appointment with a social workers is open Mon–Wed and Fri 9 a.m.–10 a.m.
The telephone service for service managers of transport services for persons over 70 years of age is open Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–11 a.m. and Mon, Tue and Thu 1 p.m.–2 p.m.
Turku is taking part in a trial in which children will start pre-primary education at the age of five. The trial will be carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture from the start of August 2021 to the end of May 2024. The trial involves children born in 2016 and 2017.

Kynnys ry is an organisation supporting the fundamental human rights of people with disabilities. The organisation also maintains the Turku for All website, detailing accessibility information on public and private services in Turku. Locations have been assessed and verified by Kynnys ry's surveyors. The surveys have followed well-defined criteria and the results are described using text, photographs and symbols.
