Who is the benefit for?
Boostii benefit's receiver's support principles 2026 (pdf, in Finnish)
The City of Turku has introduced a new grant that complements the Boostii benefit.
The additional support is intended for children and young people aged 7–17 from low-income families whose municipality of residence is Turku and who have a Finnish personal identity code. When granting the support, the family’s income level and overall situation are taken into account.
The support can be used to cover seasonal fees for organised physical activities in sports clubs, associations and groups based in Turku that are included in the Boostii benefit scheme.
Before applying for the additional support, you must first use the Boostii benefit, which is automatically granted to all 7–19-year-olds living in Turku. Applications for the additional support are submitted via the SOS Children’s Villages website.
If you need assistance with completing the application, you can ask for help from a professional who supports families with children.
The processing time for applications is approximately one month.

How to use the Boostii benefit
-
1Get familiar with the selection of activity providers' sports and groups
In the Boostii benefit's electronic system, without logging in, you can browse beginner-friendly activity groups that require no previous experience. Once logged in, you can also view groups that require previous experience in the activity.
-
2Register for the group you want
You register for groups through clubs' and associations' own channels.
-
3The association or clubs sends a bill to the person who signed up or their guardian
For new enthusiasts, the invoice will be sent after the two trial sessions.
-
4Log in to the electronic Boostii system
For children under 18, a guardian logs into the system through strong authentication and selects which child or youth they are acting on behalf of by clicking the "Act on behalf of another person" button.
Those aged 18 or older can log into the system themselves and pay the activity invoice directly.
-
5Search for the biller's information in the system
If necessary, ask the club or association for further instructions on how to pay the invoice.
-
6Pay the bill with the Boostii benefit
Check again that the account number listed in the system is the same as the number listed on the invoice.
Enter the reference number listed on the invoice and sum you want to use from your balance.
If the amount of the benefit is not sufficient to cover the full amount of the invoice from the club or if you do not wish to use their whole benefit at once, you can pay the difference.
