How to apply for a fence permit
-
1Apply for a permit in good time
Apply for a permit in the city's e-service.
Attach a plan for temporary traffic arrangements. You can use the standard drawings in the instructions. -
2Wait for the permit decision
Work may not be started before a positive permit decision. Apply for a permit in good time, as verbal permits are only granted for urgent work!
-
3If necessary, notify the traffic management centre
If fencing has significant impacts on traffic, inform the traffic centre - see instructions.
-
4After work finishes
Report the completion of the work in writing to the permit service through the “pre-application surveys and messages” menu under dig permits.
After this, a final inspection is carried out on the area to ensure it is acceptable for public use and to end the rental period.
For work lasting less than 24 hours, a temporary fencing permit must be obtained. Such work may include the short-term placement of moving, lifting, surveying, washing, installation or repair vehicles in a street area.
How to:
Submit a notification well in advance, no later than two days before the planned date. Remember to attach a preliminary traffic management plan. You may, for example, select a standard drawing of temporary traffic arrangements. Please note that all arrangements must be agreed upon with the City.
A one-time authority fee will be charged for work lasting less than 24 hours. The notification is normally submitted through the City’s electronic service portal as a fencing permit application.
