Education and training for migrants over 17 years old
Aipe provides education for migrants over 17 years old, who have a low level of general education. The needs of the student will influence the type of education that is designed for the student.
Education can start with literacy training if the student does not have the skills in their mother tongue.
After the initial phase of Aipe, the student can participate in:
- revision courses
- degree preparation courses
- integration training
- secondary level vocational education and training
Students aged 25 or over can complete the final stage of Aipe in about two years. By then, the student will have completed the Basic education syllabus.
Who can apply for adult basic education?
Aipe is for immigrants over the age of 17.
How to apply for adult basic education
You can apply through the Aipe initial language assessment. The assessment is organised by Turku Employment Region. You can also apply for training through educational institutions that offer language training or general education.
