Visitor computers
Use of the computers is free. You can use a computer whenever there is one available. You cannot reserve one in advance.
The libraries provide customer computers for various purposes, including workstations, quick-stop computers, and Vaski customer terminals, in which are available at all locations.
Access to the workstations is limited to a maximum of 2 hours. Quick-stop computers are available for 20 minutes and are intended for quick access.
Laptops are also available for use in some libraries.
Vaski customer terminals are used for searching the Vaski online library and browsing the database. You cannot print from these terminals, nor can you use other websites or software.
Laptops can be borrowed from newsroom in the main library and from the customer service desks in the Varissuo and Nummi libraries. To borrow a computer, you need a library card and a valid ID.
Using the computers
When a computer is available, you can access it by pressing any key.
For workstations and quick-stop machines, you can see how much time you have on the counter in the top corner of the screen. The session is discontinued after the computer’s time limit. When the time is up, the session closes automatically: the computer closes all open programs and deletes all data.
If you want to stop using the computer before the time is up, press the sign-out button on the time counter. Your data will be automatically deleted when you log out.
Staff will guide you with using the computers if necessary. If you encounter problems during the self-service hours at your local libraries, contact the main library's customer service during its opening hours.
