Pet cemetery
Turun Seudu lemmikkituhkaamo (Turku region pet crematory) is responsible for the maintenance of the cemetery and burying of the pets. Contact the cemetery manager to agree on a burial. You can find the contact information at the Turun seudun lemmikkituhkaamo website (in Finnish).

You can get to the pet cemetery
- by car via Lentoasemantie and Aerontie.
- Walking route from Kärsämäki at the end of Tolponkatu (around 1.5 km from Kärsämäki Cemetery.
- by busses number 1 and 21 from the bus stop at the crossing of Lentoasemantie and Aerontie (about 1 km from the pet cemetery).
Procedures of the pet cemetery
- Burial place fee is 70/50 €. It covers 10 years of ownership, and the contract can be renewed after.
- A burial must be made in agreement with the cemetery manager.
- You can bring a memorial to the burial site, a stone with a memorial plaque, for example.
- You cannot use religious symbols such as a cross, for example, on animal graves.
- Plants planted on the grave cannot cause inconvenience, no trees, or bushes for example.
- A buried pet must weigh under 30 kilos, a pet over 30 kilos must be cremated.
Cremating a pet
Turun seudun lemmikkituhkaamo (Turku region pet crematorium) works in connection with the pet Cemetery, you can cremate your pet there. Reserve a cremation time beforehand. If you want, you can spread your pet’s ashes on an area reserved for it at the cemetery.
