The absence limits
The absence limits are based on research-based information, guidance from the Ministry of Education and Culture, and regional and local development work. The aim is to detect problematic absences at an early stage, as a high number of absences weakens learning, attachment to the pre-primary education group and increases the risk of social exclusion.
Each child's situation is taken into account individually when the absence limits are exceeded and the reasons for the absences are reviewed. At the same time, the impact of absences on learning and the need for possible additional support will be examined.
