Equipment for loan

Libraries have hobby, sports and assistive equipment available for loaning. For specific loaning policies, please see the information on the loanable items below.

Black, water and dirt repellent bags with a zipper for library loans.

• The bags have a loan period of 28 days.
• The bags cannot be reserved but the loan can be renewed.
• The replacement price is €35.

The briefcase contains equipment that you can use for streaming, vlogging, recording interviews and making podcasts with a smartphone. It includes a wireless microphone system that is compatible with smartphones, computers, tablets and cameras. The equipment can be used both indoors and outdoors. 

• Loans and returns are managed by the music department of the Main Library.
• A library card and photo ID are required.

An energy meter allows you to measure the electricity usage of a plug-in appliance in dry indoor conditions. Energy meters are available for loan at the Main Library's information section, Ilpoinen, Nummi, Runosmäki and Varissuo libraries, as well as the mobile libraries. The meter must be returned to the same library from which it was borrowed. 

• The loan period is 14 days.
• Energy meters cannot be reserved.

Poles for Nordic walking are available for loan at the Runosmäki library. The library has five pairs of Masters Srl telescopic walking poles.

• The loan period of walking poles is 14 days.
• There is a late fee of €0.30 per day.
• The replacement price is €60.

The music department of the Main Library and some local libraries have a board game collection. Board games can be reserved through the online library. Any of the Vaski libraries can be selected as the pickup point, and returns can be made to the library of your choice. 

• The loan period for board games is 14 days.
• The loan can be renewed.

The list also includes games from the youth section Stoori that are not borrowable.

Family backpacks are available for loan in the children's section of the Main Library and the Yli-Maaria Library during service hours. The loan period is 14 days. Backpacks cannot be reserved, and they should be returned to the same library from which they were borrowed. 

Content of the backpacks:

• Binoculars and a magnifying glass
• Adventure map and instructions
• Notebook and pen

You can borrow litter grabbers in the reception of the new side of the Main Library. They should also be returned there.

• The loan period is 14 days.
• No booking possibility.
• Normal late fees and reminder fees.
• Replacement price €80 per item.
• No limit to the number of items borrowed.

You can reserve circus equipment in the online library. Any of the Vaski libraries can be selected as the pickup point, and the equipment can be returned to the library of your choice. The loan period for circus equipment is 14 days.

You can reserve a skateboard and a helmet in the online library. You can only select Turku Main Library as the pickup point. Skateboards and helmets must also be returned to the information desk of Stoori or the Main Library reception on the first floor of the new building.

• The loan period for skateboards and helmets is 14 days.
• Loans cannot be renewed.
• The skateboards have slightly different features.
• Helmets come in two different sizes.

Instruments and tuners are borrowed in the music department of the Main Library, and must also be returned there. The loan period is 14 days.

• Tenor ukulele
• Five-string kantele (3 available)

Makita DDF 484 cordless drill and Makita DHP 484 cordless hammer drill.

• The loan period is 14 days.
• Cordless drills cannot be reserved and the loan cannot be renewed.
• Borrowed and returned in the music section of the Main Library.
• A library card and photo ID are required.
• Does NOT include drill bits, you have to acquire them yourself.
