Turku employment region
The Turku employment region includes 23 municipalities in Southwest Finland, and Turku serves as the host municipality. The employment region consists of the following municipalities: Aura, Kaarina, Kemiönsaari, Kustavi, Laitila, Lieto, Loimaa, Masku, Mynämäki, Naantali, Nousiainen, Oripää, Paimio, Pargas, Pyhäranta, Pöytyä, Raisio, Rusko, Sauvo, Taivassalo, Turku, Uusikaupunki and Vehmaa.
Turku serves as the Turku employment region's host municipality, to which the region’s joint services and tasks have been centralised. From 1 January 2025, local services will be offered in the following municipalities:
- Kaarina
- Laitila
- Lieto
- Loimaa (also serves Aura, Oripää and Pöytyä)
- Paimio (also serves Sauvo)
- Raisio (also serves Naantali, Masku, Mynämäki, Nousiainen and Rusko)
- Parainen/Pargas (also serves Kemiönsaari/Kimitoön)
- Uusikaupunki (also serves Kustavi, Pyhäranta, Taivassalo and Vehmaa)
- Turku (host municipality)
Information for private customers
- The transfer of your customer relationship to your municipality of residence does not require any action from you. Your customer information will be automatically transferred to the new employment authority.
- You do not need to restart your job search because of the transfer of the customer relationship.
- Your unemployment benefits will not change when your customer relationship is transferred to your home municipality.
- The transfer will not affect any tasks or services that have already been agreed upon with you.
- Your municipality of residence will provide you with instructions on how to use the Employment Services from 1 January 2025 onwards.
- As of 1 January 2025, your municipality of residence will schedule the upcoming appointments or contacts with you.
- Job Market Finland will remain a key online service for registering as a jobseeker and managing matters related to jobseeking.
Information for employers and business customers
- Employers’ customer relationships are not automatically transferred to the new employment authorities.
- Job Market Finland will remain a key online service through which the employer can look for employees and advertise vacancies.
- Your municipality of residence will provide you with instructions on how to use the Employment Services from 1 January 2025 onwards.
- Employers can submit electronic contact requests via Business E-services only after their customer information has been updated with a new responsible official in 2025: Business E-services at Job Market Finland
- Before an electronic contact request can be made, the employer must contact the Turku employment region.
