Outreach Youth Work

You can come and see an outreach youth worker if you have things on your mind that seem difficult in some way. Together we can figure stuff out, for instance, over a coffee. Reach out if you are under 30 years-of-age and:

• your plans for the future are unclear
• you have not found a place to work or study
• you find it difficult to fill in official forms
• you feel alone and want something to do
• you want to talk about or need support with a difficult situation in your life
• you are in a situation in your life that needs changing
• you just want to talk

Together with us you can talk about things that have to do with housing, becoming independent, wellbeing, being able to sustain yourself, about relationships, work, or studies. You do not have to have a specific topic on mind to come talk with us.

Our service is completely voluntary and confidential. You can also contact us completely anonymously.

We can meet where it is best for you (e.g. at a café, in a park, in a library, in the city centre, in Kupittaa, in Runosmäki, in Varissuo, in Pansio, in Jäkärlä, etc.). We can also meet remotely via Discord, WhatsApp, Zoom, or some other app. You can decide!

Outreach youth work helps young people outside education or the labour market to find education, work or other services they need. Youth outreach workers are present among young people and offer a safe and confidential discussion with an adult. Participation in outreach youth work is voluntary for young people.

Outreach youth work also contacts young people under the age of 29 who have interrupted their studies or military or non-military service.
