Go Runo Go! Fills the Library courtyard

The 7th Go Runo Go! event brings poetry into a summer afternoon on 6th of July. The event organized as a collaboration with Turku City Library and Varsinais-Suomen Runoviikko ry, takes its name from poet Markku Into’s text. The event pays homage to late Markku Into and introduces performance poetry to summery Turku.

Library’s courtyard will host performances from poets Katariina Vuorinen, Silja Järventausta, Henrik Pathirane, Milka Luhtaniemi and Timo Lappalainen together with saxophone player Jaakko Martikainen.

The afternoon ends with an open mic event. Go Runo Go! will be hosted by Kalle Talonen.

Dancing and singing in the Library courtyard

On Monday and Tuesday evenings Turun Soitannollinen kerho hosts an outdoor dance and a sing-along in the Library courtyard. Joy of music will be there to enjoy all summer long. Sing-alongs start in June, the outdoor dancing in early July and both run until the end of August.

End of summer will bring with it the familiar Turku Night of the Arts on 14th of August. Popular 2nd hand book fair for books removed from the library’s collection will take place in the Library courtyard. Many more events for families from library tours to work shops and music to come.

Welcome to enjoy the Library’s colourful summer!
