The Music Centre and the adjacent Turku City Theatre will form a unique performing arts entity that will attract both national and international performers and audiences. Turku Music Centre is the musical heart of the cultural riverbank.
Easy access to Music Centre Fuuga
Turku’s new Music Centre Fuuga is located in the city centre and is easily accessible by public transport and on foot. Visitors arriving by car can use the city centre’s parking facilities.
All city centre car parks are within a short walking distance of the cultural venues. They are located less than one kilometre from Music Centre Fuuga. In addition, the new 230-space Cultural Car Park has been built next to the Turku City Theatre.
Visitors to Music Centre Fuuga, WAM and Turku City Theatre are encouraged to use the city centre parking facilities, which are only a short walk from the riverside.
Your ticket is also a bus ticket
Tickets for performances at Music Centre Fuuga and Turku City Theatre also serve as bus tickets on all Föli routes for three hours before and three hours after the performance. One transfer is included in each direction.
Parking spaces for disabled visitors are available in front of the music centre, and drop-off access to the entrance will continue to be provided.
Itäinen Rantakatu will remain one-way during the repair works on the Aura River embankment wall. The construction work is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
Home to all music
The Music Centre will serve as the new home of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. Its state-of-the-art acoustics ensure that orchestral music can truly shine. The orchestra will perform weekly in the concert hall. Other diverse programme content will be developed together with various partners.
The Music Centre serves as a platform for close collaboration with local and international actors. The convertible halls – the concert hall and multifunctional hall – enable a rich variety of complementary offerings, from popular music ranging from jazz to electronic music, to multi-arts projects combining different art forms.
Local actors are key partners, but there is also room for one-off collaborations and guest performances. This will create a diverse range of content that resonates with a larger audience.
Open meeting place offering new experiences
The Music Centre is more than a concert hall. It is a shared meeting place for locals, allowing everyone to enjoy interdisciplinary art experiences and complementary services. Whether it’s a concert, gig or a cup of coffee on the rooftop terrace with a friend, lunch or a public event at the heart of the city – by offering all this, the Music Centre contributes to a communal and vibrant urban culture.
The programme and services of the cultural entity formed by the Turku City Theatre and Music Centre Fuuga are managed by an expanding theatre company Kulttuuriranta led by CEO Arto Valkama, Theatre Director Mikko Kouki and the Director of the Music Hall Samppa Rinne.
