The City of Turku provides free summer meals for children and young people on 1–26 June 2026 in different parts of Turku. The meals are organised as part of Kivaloma kulmilla activities, 4H association, the Voimaa vanhemmuudesta project, and FC Inter.

Free holiday-time meals support families’ everyday life as well as the wellbeing, nutrition and participation of children and young people. The summer meals offer a safe and easily accessible place for eating together. The organisers also provide free and enjoyable summer activities in connection with the meals.

Summer meals 2026

Summer meals are provided from 1 to 26 June 2026. The food is prepared by Kaarea and all meals are lactose-free.

A limited number of portions is available, and the food is distributed in order of arrival. Lunch is primarily offered to children taking part in the organisers’ summer activities. Any food left over will be distributed to other children who come to the location.

The menu is the same as in day-care centres and can be found on Kaarea’s website. Participants must bring their own tableware: a plate, cutlery and a drink. It is also a good idea to bring a plastic bag for dirty dishes. The activities follow safer space principles.
