Permit description
All outdoor events require a permit from the landowner or tenant renting from the city. The city also rents out sales points and advertising spaces in public areas.
Instructions for use
Events in parks, streets and marketplaces
- Apply for an event permit primarily in the Urban Environment e-service.
- Alternatively, you can apply for a permit by completing the land use permit application. Submit the completed permit application by email to kaupunkiymparistotoimiala@turku.fi or deliver it directly to the Urban Environment Customer Service.
Sports venue bookings
- Apply for outdoor sports facilities from the City of Turku Sports Services. Complete the application form for the sports event and submit it to the Sports Services Customer Service no later than one month before the event.
- You will receive a written confirmation once your reservation has been successfully booked. Sign the booking confirmation and return it to the Sports Services.
- Contact the Sports Services Customer Service if you have any questions about the booking.
Events in school yards
- Complete the rental application for school facilities and deliver it to the principal of the school in question.
Advertising in public places
- Apply for a permit from the landowner for temporary advertising.
- You can erect signs related to the event in the Turku region without a separate permit. Make sure that the signs are removed after the event.

How long does it take to get a permit?
Permits for events in parks, streets and marketplaces are processed in approximately four weeks.
Background information about the service
Permits for using streets and green areas for exceptional purposes must be sought from the municipality. A permit must be sought for such purposes as cultural events.
If you need to lease a street or green area due to, for example, nearby construction work, you must post a worksite board that details the party performing the work and the contact details of the person responsible for the work.
