Parking areas have been relocated due to construction work
The closure of Satamakatu has resulted in some parking spaces being relocated to a new temporary car park between Kuljetuskatu and Juhana Herttuan puistokatu. The temporary car park provides space for nearly 300 vehicles. Parking areas closest to the passenger terminals remain unchanged.
Due to the new traffic arrangements, on-street parking around Turku Castle has been removed. No parking signs have been installed along Linnankatu, Satamakatu and Neljäs linja.
Although some parking areas have been relocated, the total number of parking spaces in the area remains unchanged. Additional signage has been installed to help drivers find the updated parking areas.
The current parking arrangements are shown on the map below.

Linnankatu has reopened to traffic
Linnankatu in front of Turku Castle has reopened which allows drivers approaching from the city centre to once again access the Port of Turku via Linnankatu. However, the section of Linnankatu between Satamakatu and Toinen poikkikatu remains closed.
A new phase of construction has also begun on Satamakatu, and the section between Vallihaudankatu and Linnankatu is now closed to traffic. All motor vehicle traffic to the passenger terminals is currently routed via Linnankatu, Satamakatu and Neljäs linja.
The redevelopment of the Port of Turku street network has affected traffic routes and parking arrangements since last autumn. Although the reopening of Linnankatu has made access to the port easier, temporary traffic arrangements remain in place.
The current arrangements are expected to remain in effect until August 2027. Access to all properties in the area is maintained throughout the construction period.
Tuontikatu is closed under Pahaniemi Bridge until 30 October
Tuontikatu is closed to vehicle traffic beneath Pahaniemi Bridge between Vientiväylä and Tuontiväylä until 30 October.
