At Varissuo Ice Hall, you can ice skate or do other ice sports.
Ice hockey, ice rink bandy and ringette players, as well as figure and synchronized skaters, use the ice hall.
Varissuo Ice Hall is located 40 meters below ground in a rock cave. Access to the ice hall and gym is via the parking hall on the Suurpäänkatu side. There is also an elevator to the premises on weekdays between 7–15.30 from the Kraatarinkatu side.

Public sessions
You're welcome to join free public skating sessions without hockey sticks. Please note that hockey sticks may only be brought to hockey stick sessions, which are mainly organised during school holidays.

Always follow the applicable rules, staff instructions, cleanliness standards, and proper conduct. In this way, we ensure that everyone can train safely and without disturbances.
Changing Rooms
- Changing rooms are available no later than 30 minutes before the start of the session. The changing room must be vacated 30 minutes after the end of the training session.
- Keep the sports facilities and changing rooms clean. If a user leaves the changing room in a messy condition, the Sports Services Service Center may charge a cleaning fee.
- If any problems arise in the changing room, please inform the hall’s maintenance staff immediately. Do not use an unclean changing room.
- Do not play music at a disturbingly high volume in the changing rooms.
- Users are responsible for locking changing rooms, drying rooms, and storage areas. Sports Services are not responsible for lost property.
Rink Maintenance
- Rink maintenance lasts 10 minutes and is carried out at the beginning of the session. Any alternative arrangements for rink maintenance must be agreed upon with the staff.
- The rink may only be entered after the maintenance gates have been closed.
- At the end of the session, users must collect the pucks on time and move the goals.
- During competitions, the home team is responsible for moving the goals.
Other
- Intoxication, possession and use of intoxicants, smoking, and the use of snus are prohibited in all areas.
- If you notice broken items, disorder, or similar issues, please report them to the staff as soon as possible.
- There is recording camera surveillance to ensure the safety of the users.
