Turku Employment Services organised the Light and Strength event for clients of the Work Ability Services at Turku Concert Hall on 9 April 2026. The new event concept offered clients and partners an experiential programme combining music and culture with information, support and encounters. The exhibitors at Turku Concert Hall included 20 associations, Sports Services, Library Services, Auran olohuone and several partners.
Perhaps the most meaningful aspect was that more than 300 clients attended the event. They came to meet others, listen and discover new directions – not only attracted by the coffee service, but out of genuine interest in their own situation.
Encounters and Insights
The event offered participants an opportunity to pause and reflect on their own life situation and to talk with specialists in a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere. Many participants said they had gained new ideas, encouragement and concrete steps towards working life.

The Atmosphere of the Concert Hall Made an Impression
The unique setting of Turku Concert Hall, live music and behind-the-scenes tours created a special atmosphere for the event. We would like to warmly thank the Concert Hall staff for their excellent cooperation. Through the performance by the string quintet of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra, they offered participants a memorable experience. At the same time, the event provided information on wellbeing, coping in everyday life and support services.
A Shared Success
The exhibitors were there first and foremost for the clients – to meet, listen and help. The event left many people with a positive feeling, and the shared view was clear: there is a place for events like this in the future as well. The aim is to organise a similar event once or twice a year going forward.
Could the Concept Serve an Even Wider Audience?
Based on the experiences gained, it is worth considering whether there is a broader demand for this type of low-threshold, experiential event. By combining services, encounters and cultural experiences, it is possible to create a programme that speaks to different target groups and lowers the threshold for participation. Similar events could also be used for other client groups or themes, offering new ways to reach and support people in their own life situations.
