Riimi Community Centre
Riimi Community Centre, which was completed in spring 2024, is a modern community centre in Runosmäki, Turku. The Centre is jointly governed by the City of Turku, the Lutheran Church in Turku and Kaarina, and the wellbeing services county of Southwest Finland (Varha).
The services of a library, a youth centre, early childhood education and care, parish services and the Varha family centre and maternity and child health clinic can all be obtained in Riimi.
The largest facility in Riimi is a church hall where religious services and ceremonies are held, but the facilities can also be used for non-ecclesiastical activities.

Halls
- Personnel capacity max. 150 people.
- Available for hire on weekdays from 5 p.m. and on weekends from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m..
- When booking the multi-purpose hall, you also get access to the changing room.
- For larger events, the joint kitchen must be booked separately. Otherwise, the kitchen is simultaneously available for all operators in the facility.
- Church hall of the parish. Available for hire Mon–Sun 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Booking the church hall for any other use than church services and parish events must always be done by contacting the parish secretary, tel. +358 40 341 7233.
- Large parish hall, max. 85 people. Available for hire Mon–Sun 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
- Small parish hall, max. 35 people. Available for hire Mon–Sun 9 a.m.–8 p.m.
- With the exception of non-ecclesiastical ceremonies in the church hall, Riimi facilities are booked via the Timeworks booking calendar.
- If you need a facility for refreshments offered in connection with a baptism, please book a facility via the parish caretaker, tel. +358 40 341 7071.
Kitchen
- Used by clubs and other operators in the building.
- For making coffee for a maximum of 20 people in connection with club activities.
- Several operators may be making coffee in the kitchen at the same time.
- Using the communal kitchen is free of charge.
- The communal kitchen can be booked for private use for larger events.
- The booking application must be submitted separately to the Lobby Services.
- Booking the kitchen for private use is subject to a fee.
- The communal kitchen cannot be booked for private use without booking another facility in the building.
- The communal kitchen has plates, glasses and cutlery for eating and serving, a large professional coffee machine and a kettle.
- There is a small kitchen in connection with the dining area. The small kitchen is available on weekdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for making coffee if the communal kitchen is busy and the dining area is not reserved.
- Weekend bookings for the facility can be separately arranged.
Meeting and conference facilities
The meeting and conference facilities are located on the 2nd floor. All conference rooms are accessible by lift.
The conference facilities can also be hired by clubs. The facilities are available for hire daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Exhibition space and Event Yard
Are you interested in organising a personal exhibition, or an exhibition by your hobby group?
- The exhibition lobby can be booked via the caretaker for one month at a time.
- Hanging rails and lines are available for the exhibition.
Riimi has an Event Yard with seating for an audience. The Event Yard is ideal for outdoor events, especially during the summer.

- The person responsible for the booking must be of age.
When applying for a regular (e.g. weekly) booking, please ensure your booking allows for enough time for preparations and cleaning.
Applications for regular bookings are submitted for the operating period as follows:
- Regular summer bookings 1 June–14 August Application period 6 May–31 May
- Regular autumn bookings 15 August–31 December Application period 6 May–31 May
- Regular spring bookings 2 January–30 May Application period 15 October–15 November
- When applying for a new regular booking, first register as an applicant and then fill in the regular booking application.

Parking and accessibility
- Riimi has a total of 45 parking spaces.
- 10 parking spaces for short-term parking (max. 30 min).
- There are two disabled parking spaces closest to the main entrance (E3) and 3 taxi spaces near them.
- 25 parking spaces have been allocated for visitors to Riimi (max. 2 hours).
- Charging instructions for electric cars on the eParking website. Turku Energy is the operator.
Accessible access to the building and inside the building has been made possible by means of appropriately marked access routes, lifts and signs.
- Riimi has two wheelchair lifts. One is located to the right of the library’s lending point and the other is located near the B stairwell/in the lobby of the church hall.
- The interior dimensions of the wheelchair lifts are: Width 110 cm x depth 147 cm x height 200 cm. Door opening 90 cm x 200 cm. Wheelchair lift loading capacity max. 400 kg / 5 persons.
- Toilets on both floors for persons with reduced mobility. The toilets have a help request system.
- The main map of the building includes instructions in Braille and there is also a tactile map of the building on the first floor.
- The following facilities available for hire have an induction loop and amplifier: Kaleva hall, dining room, church hall, large parish hall and small parish hall.
- The parking area has two marked disabled parking spaces and there is one disable parking space on both Friskinpolku and Piiparinpolku.
