What is Turku Game Academy?
Turku Game Academy (TGA) organises a variety of gaming-related activities for young people in Turku and the surrounding areas.
TGA is based in the Aunela Youth Centre, which houses the Nexus Gaming Centre, designed for modern PC gaming, the well-equipped Moria RPG and board game center, a flight simulator, and a wide range of other gaming equipment.
TGA also regularly organizes LAN events and gaming tournaments.
Who can take part in TGAs activity?
Turku Game Academy is aimed at 13–20-year-olds.
Come play with us
You can come and participate in TGA's activities according to opening hours. You do not need to register in advance for open game shifts.
Events and some game nights require pre-registration. Up-to-date information about opening hours, weekly programs and events can be found on Turku Game Academy's Instagram and Discord.
Game shifts and games
- Game slots are filled in the order they arrive. In case of a queue, the playing time is approximately one hour.
- The most popular free games are installed on the machines in the game room and more games can be installed according to the wishes of visitors. There is always a youth instructor on site who will guide you through the games and gaming equipment.
Game IDs
- Your own game ID is used to play. There are no loan IDs for games in the game room.
- Players under the age of 13 must have game IDs created together with a guardian.

Moria is TGA’s gaming space focused on tabletop and role-playing games, combining traditional gaming hobbies with modern technology.
The space offers a wide selection of board games, card games and TCGs, as well as all the necessary equipment to get started with role-playing games. Moria also features five gaming PCs, a Nintendo Switch 2 and a PlayStation 5.
Moria provides ample table space for independent hobby activities related to various gaming themes.
Role-playing game nights on Wednesdays
During role-playing game nights, you can play with your own group, receive support in preparing your game sessions, and explore different topics related to role-playing games. You can also take part in TGA’s open West Marches–style campaign. More information about the campaign can be found on TGA’s Discord.
Moria offers game materials for loan, including dice, miniatures and rulebooks (D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2e and Daggerheart). Digital tools are also available, such as the Foundry VTT virtual tabletop, map-making software, miniature paints and more.
TCG and board game nights on Thursdays
A comprehensive selection of board games is available on site, along with loan decks for games such as Magic: The Gathering and Pokémon. You can play with friends or join games starting on site.
Theme nights on Fridays
On Fridays, Moria explores different aspects of gaming as a hobby. The programme includes digital games, board games, role-playing games and much more related to gaming culture. Check the weekly theme in TGA’s weekly programme on Instagram or Discord.
Nexus is TGA’s gaming space dedicated to PC gaming and offers 10 PC stations. Open game nights are organised at Nexus approximately three times a week, along with themed activities such as Spawn Point game nights.
Spawn Point game nights on Mondays of even-numbered weeks
The game nights are open to girls, gender minorities and everyone who feels that the Spawn Point game night is meant for them. During the evening, participants have access to both the PC stations in Nexus and the card and board games in Moria. You can join to explore different games, play together with friends or meet new fellow hobbyists.
Overclock LAN 14–16 February 2026
TGA will participate in the Overclock LAN event at Juhannuskukkula School from 14–16 February.
TGA will provide the first 10 registered participants with a full weekend LAN seat ticket, and TGA instructors will be present to host TGA’s own gaming station. You can register for the LAN either on your own or together with friends.
