Participating in the Spouse Program offers a valuable opportunity to support your integration into life in Finland. The working language of the spouse program is English, and all activities are free of charge.
The program is part of the project ‘Purje – work and vitality for Southwest Finland’ co-funded by the European Union.
What does the service offer?
The Spouse Program offers support for international spouses who are adapting to life in Finland. Participants receive practical information about Finnish society, public services, employment opportunities, education, health care, and everyday life.
The program includes monthly information sessions, international coffee mornings, workshops, and networking events. Through these activities, participants can build social and professional networks, improve their confidence, and learn more about Finnish culture and society.
The program also provides guidance on topics such as language learning, job searching, recognition of foreign qualifications, and starting a business. In addition, it creates a supportive international community where participants can share experiences and feel more connected to Turku and Finland.

The Spouse Program is designed for international spouses who are adjusting to life in Finland and are looking for guidance and support.
It is aimed at those who want to better understand Finnish society, expand their social and professional networks, and become more confident in their everyday lives. Participants may be exploring career opportunities, pursuing further education, learning Finnish or Swedish, or seeking ways to engage more actively in their local community.

The program is especially beneficial for international residents who have lived in Turku or Finland for up to three years.
