Skating schools teach children the tricks and tips of ice skating in line with their skill level.

What is an ice skating school?

In skating school, children get to learn the basics of skating and hone previous skating skills in the instruction of ice skating teachers. We offer courses for children under school age (3–6-year-olds) and of primary school age (7–13-year-olds).

We organise skating schools during schools’ Christmas and Winter holidays on weekdays if the ice field is ready.

Course options

The age limits for the courses are indicative.

  • Children under school age: The course is for children who can stay upright without support while wearing skates. We learn the basics of ice skating in a group through fun, easy play and equipment. One adult is welcome to come to the class with the child.
  • School-age children: The course is for children who can move independently on ice skates. The course is also suitable for preschoolers.

Who can attend ice skating school?

Ice skating schools are intended for 3–13-year-olds.

The child must fulfil the requirements of the group. We do not recommend entering your child in a group with older or more skilled skiers to make sure that your child gets the most joy and experiences of success from the ice skating school.

Participation instructions, schedules, and registering

Sign your child up for a group that matches their skill level in advance. Pay for the course to the ice skating club in connection with registration.

Bring your own ice skates and helmet to the skating school.
