The City of Turku's Children and Youth Services welcome visitors to visit Turku's daycare centres, schools and educational institutions, youth services and service administration.

We organise visits, workshops and lectures that are planned according to your wishes and the size of the group.  

City of  Turku’s Children and Youth Services welcome visitors mainly during the periods of September–November 
and January–April. 

• August is dedicated to the start-up of the new operational year.
• December and May focus particularly on celebrations, assessments and graduations, especially within education 
  services.
• Schools and pre-primary education units are closed in June and July; youth services also have summer breaks 
  and seasonal closures.
• Visits are not organised in the evenings or during holiday periods. 

Visit requests must be submitted at least one month in advance, preferably 2–3 months before the desired date. Especially during holiday periods, processing may be slower. 

Each unit (early childhood education centre, basic education school, general upper secondary school, vocational 
education institution and youth work unit) assesses independently whether it can receive visitors at the 
requested time. 

The language of the visit is mainly Finnish and English (and Swedish in Swedish-language units). If none of these 
languages are suitable, the visiting group must arrange its own interpreter. 

Visits are generally subject to a fee. 

• Free-of-charge visits include partner visits, official cooperation and twin city cooperation. The decision is made 
  by the Manager of International Affairs (Children and Youth Services).
• Prices are listed excluding VAT. VAT will be added when invoiced.
• Groups may need to be divided into smaller subgroups during the visit.
• Special lectures and additional services are priced separately.
• Meals and coffee are charged separately according to the current price list.
