The City Archive's documents contain information on the City of Turku's past and development. The City Archive contains documents from the past 400 years.

The document collection contains:

  • the City's organisations oldest, permanently preserved documents
  • the documents of the City's sectors, offices, and institutions that have discontinued their services
  • the City of Turku's merged municipalities' archives (Kakskerta, Maaria, Paattinen)
  • Turku's registry office's and magistrates' court documents form 1624–1977
  • Turku-based privat persons' and communities' archives

One of the most used materials is the architectural drawings of the Building Supervision, which have been stored since 1989, as well as the minutes of the City Council and City Board.
