Arrival
Samppalinna Outdoor Swimming Stadium is located at the top of a steep hill. You can enter the premises with a wristband through the turnstile next to the ticket office or through the turnstile at the café end.
We recommend arriving by bicycle or on foot. If you arrive by car, there is a very limited number of paid parking spaces behind the State Office Building.

Entrance
The accessible parking spaces (2 spaces) are located on the right-hand side before the main entrance to the Outdoor Swimming Stadium. If you need assistance, press the emergency call button.
The leftmost main door is an automatic door, and the lift provides access to the pool area.
There is an induction loop at the customer service point and in the swimming supervision for customers with hearing impairments.
Elevators and routes
On the entrance floor, customer service will open the access gate for people who cannot use the gate that opens with a wristband. If the wristband has been programmed for the accessible gate, you can open it yourself with the wristband.
The lift buttons are marked with raised letters. The buttons must be held down continuously for the lift to move.
You may come to the Outdoor Swimming Stadium with a guide dog. The dog can be left in the back room of the swimming supervision or in the pool area, where water and a place to rest are available for the dog. Guide dogs are not allowed in the changing rooms.
Accessibility in the pool area
The 50-metre pool is easy to access using gently sloping steps and a ramp. There is no accessible access to the children’s pool.
There is accessible access to the children’s playground.
Two wheeled shower chairs and one rollator are available for use.
Toilets
Accessible toilets are available both in the changing facilities and in the pool area.
The emergency pull cord in the accessible toilets is positioned both hanging from the ceiling and running close to the floor. The cord can be reached from both levels. The emergency call is directed to customer service, and staff will check the situation.
Common changing, shower and sauna facilities
The changing and shower facilities on the first floor are accessible. The pool area is located on the second floor and can be accessed by lift. The general sauna facilities are not suitable for wheelchair users.
Booking the accessible changing, shower and sauna facility
Samppalinna Outdoor Swimming Pool has an accessible changing, shower, and sauna facility that can be booked free of charge, especially for customers who need accessible facilities. The facility is located in the pool area next to the kiosk. It includes four separate changing cubicles, shower cubicles, a sauna, and several lockers that work with a wristband. The lockers are locked and opened with the wristband. The locker door must be left open when leaving the facility. If the door has been left locked, the access gate will not open.
The facility must be booked in advance through the Varaamo system. The facility can be used by two customers with their assistants at the same time. Bookings can be made no earlier than four weeks in advance. The same customer can book the facility up to four times per month. One booking can last a maximum of two hours. When you arrive, please check in at the ticket office so that staff can confirm your booking and inform swimming supervision of your arrival. Please remember to cancel your booking if you are unable to use it.
