Blue-green algae have not been detected on the beaches. However, algae can exceptionally be found in the water even during early summer. Currently, the water can look yellowish due to large amounts of pollen from coniferous trees. It is easily mistaken with blue-green algae.
If blue-green algae are detected on the beaches, notifications are placed on the beaches and online on turku.fi.
