The City of Turku welcomes all new residents who moved to Turku in 2025 to a hockey game as part of Turku Day pre-party. The evening will culminate with a performance by Turku’s popstar Robin.
The Turku Day pre-party will be held on Saturday, September 20, at the Gatorade Center. The evening will kick off with the TPS–KalPa ice hockey game at 5 p.m. The game is expected to end between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m.
In addition to the hockey game, the audience will have the opportunity to learn about the diverse sports activities available in Turku. The clubs present will showcase various recreational opportunities, offering new residents an excellent opportunity to find their own recreational community in their new city.
The evening will continue after the game when Turku's own iconic popstar Robin Packalen takes to the stage. His performance will crown the event and create an unforgettable finale to the celebration for new Turku residents.
According to the Mayor of Turku Piia Elo, it is important that both new residents and long-time residents feel that Turku is truly their home city.
"We want to build a city where everyone can find their place and feel that they belong. Turku's strength has always been its people, and it is precisely these encounters and shared moments that strengthen both the sense of belonging and pride in one's hometown," says Elo.
The celebrations will be followed by Turku Day, which will be celebrated on Sunday, September 21, with the theme "movingly charming Turku." In addition to sport events, the program includes plenty of music, dance, and culture. The events are organized by the City of Turku as well as local associations, companies, and clubs. The City of Turku invites all Turku residents and friends of Turku to celebrate our hometown's special day.
New residents who moved to Turku in 2025 can get a ticket to the Turku Day pre-party by registering here. A total of 1,000 tickets are available.
