Morning and afternoon activities are children's guided leisure time, where children play, read, do various manual skills, learn everyday skills and spend time outdoors together with professional instructors.
According to the current legislation, pupils in grades 1 and 2 and pupils in basic education who have a decision on special support are entitled for paid morning and afternoon activities organized by the City of Turku. In the activities, children are insured and offered a snack in accordance with nutritional recommendations.
Apply for a place through the Wilma system
Applications for the morning- and afternoon activities are primarily submitted between 31 March and 14 April 2026. The application is made through the Wilma system. Registration for the activities is open for the entire academic year. Information on the location decision for morning and afternoon activities will be available in Wilma by 31.5.2026.
High-quality and comprehensive activities
The City of Turku's services for children and young people organize and coordinate morning and afternoon activities in Turku. The activities are produced by both the City of Turku and various service providers.
The aim of the morning and afternoon activities is to support educational cooperation between home and school, as well as to prevent social exclusion and increase children's inclusion. The starting point is high-quality and comprehensive morning and afternoon activities throughout the city of Turku.
