Located on the Old Great Square, Brinkkala is one of the most well-known buildings in historic Turku. Each year, the Christmas Peace is proclaimed from its balcony. The elegant and historic rooms facing the square are available to hire for private celebrations and various events.

Venues for Hire

Brinkkala’s atmospheric event spaces provide a distinctive setting for a wide range of occasions. The building is best known for its role in the Christmas Peace tradition, and its interiors have been faithfully restored to reflect their original 1886 appearance.

You may hire an individual room or the entire events floor. All rooms offer views of the Old Great Square and Turku Cathedral. Audiovisual equipment is available upon request.

The Magistrate’s Courtroom

A distinguished space ideal for formal receptions or meetings of up to 60 guests. The room includes a piano and tasteful period décor.

The Green Hall

A versatile room well suited to training sessions, meetings, or private events, accommodating up to 40 people.

The Christmas Peace Room

A unique, inviting room for up to 7 people, furnished in neo-rococo style – ideal for a small reception or intimate family ceremonies.

Planning Your Event

Set-up, Pack-down, and Cleaning

  • Time for set-up and pack-down is charged at €70 per hour.
  • Events, including pack-down, must conclude by 2.00 a.m.
  • Standard cleaning is included in the hire fee. Additional cleaning costs may be charged if necessary.

Catering and Kitchen Facilities

  • You are welcome to choose your own catering provider.
  • A small kitchen is available with the larger rooms.

Access and Location

Public transport: A bus stop is located directly outside the Old Great Square.

Parking: Available in nearby car parks around Turku Cathedral and on surrounding streets.

Please note:
All rooms are located on the first floor, one level above ground.
The building does not have a lift.
A portable ramp is available for the main entrance, which can be installed by staff upon request.

    • 150 € per hour between 18 and 02

    • 60 € per hour between 8 and 18
