The Ukrainians of Finland association has especially promoted the status of Ukrainian refugees and their integration into Finland. The City of Turku chooses the Multicultural Act of the Year to highlight the diverse international character of Turku.

Seasonal influenza vaccinations start in stages in Turku

Seasonal influenza vaccinations for the adult population will begin in Turku on 31 October at the vaccination reception at Satakunnantie 105. Vaccinations are administered at the reception every weekday between 8:15 and 15:45 in November and December. Vaccinations for children, young people and pregnant persons start earlier.

International Talents Showcase Turku in a New Campaign

The Talent Turku project, a joint effort by Turku Science Park Ltd. and the City of Turku, is launching a new campaign marketing Southwest Finland and the Turku region to international audiences. The campaign, dubbed #TalentedByNature, takes place in social media, with the goal of increasing the attractiveness of both Turku and the entire region of Southwest Finland for international talents and their families. Additionally, the campaign also strives to lower the threshold for companies to hire international talents.

The Year’s New Citizen of Turku and Multicultural Act 2020 have been selected

The Year’s New Citizen of Turku for 2020 is Bosnian-born Aida Bacic. The Multicultural Act 2020 award has been awarded to Monikulttuurinen päivähoito, koti ja koulu ry. Both work in their own spheres to promote multicultural activities that involve both immigrants and native Finns.
