The International Student Support Service offers advice and guidance to all international students currently living in (or about to move to) Turku. Students can meet with an advisor either online or in-person to discuss any issues they might be facing.
The service consists of an initial consultation followed by check-ins as needed. Typical topics include:
• Getting started in Turku – registration and paperwork advice
• Feeling at home in Turku – networking, integration, Finnish language advice
• Thinking about the future – residence permit extensions, career advice
• Family matters – opportunities for your spouse and/or children whilst you are studying
The service will also introduce you to other relevant actors and organisations within the international talent ecosystem of Southwest Finland.
The language of the service is English. All meetings are confidential and free-of-charge.
This service is part of the project ‘Purje – work and vitality for Southwest Finland’ co-funded by the European Union.
Who is the service intended for?
All international students studying in Southwest Finland can use this service, including those who hold an offer but have not yet arrived. The service also supports recent graduates who are planning to stay in Finland. Family members of international students are also welcome to use this service.
If you have recently moved to Turku for a reason other than studying, we can warmly recommend our Soft-landing Service.
