Artistic quality and novelty of the project

1. The grant recipient’s activities are based on professional artistic practice and expertise.
2. The artistic content of the grant recipient’s project plan is of high quality, original and artistically ambitious.
3. The grant recipient’s project produces new artistic content that has not been presented previously. 

Feasibility of the project and cooperation

1. The grant recipient’s work plan is clear, coherent and realistic in relation to the scope and objectives of the project.
2. The grant recipient identifies and makes use of networks appropriate to the project that enhance the quality, impact or accessibility of the activities.

Professional basis and novelty of the project

1. The grant recipient’s activities are based on professional artistic practice and expertise.
2. The grant recipient’s project develops or tests a new operating model that provides a justified solution to an identified development need and has potential for wider application. 

Financial and administrative capacity to implement the project

1. The grant recipient has sufficient administrative and professional capacity to implement the project as planned.
2. The grant recipient’s spending plan and budget are clear, and the costs are justified in terms of implementing the project.
3. The grant recipient’s project is limited in time and scope so that it can be implemented in full during the grant period, or the part funded by the grant constitutes an independent whole that can be substantially completed during the grant period.

Quality and impact of the project development plan

1. The grant recipient’s project is a clearly defined development or pilot project that requires separate funding to be implemented.
2. The grant recipient has a plan for establishing or expanding the operating model after the grant period.
3. The grant recipient has defined appropriate assessment indicators for the project to assess its implementation, the achievement of its development objectives, the significance of cooperation and the project’s impact.
4. The grant recipient makes use of cooperation networks appropriate to the project objectives whose expertise supports the development of new operating models for cultural services.

City of Turku strategic objectives (accessibility and vitality of cultural services)

1. The grant recipient’s activities enhance the diversity of the forms and content of the City’s cultural provision.
2. The grant recipient’s activities strengthen the local cultural ecosystem, promote cooperation between operators and create opportunities for professional artists to work in the area.
3. The grant recipient takes the principles of sustainable development, equality and non-discrimination into account in its activities.

If the applicant receives another City of Turku grant

1. The activities carried out with this grant do not overlap with the purpose of another City of Turku grant awarded to the applicant.

• The grant applicant must attach a project/development plan to the application.
• The grant is not awarded for premises rental costs, travel, publishing activities or equipment purchases, or to fund the general activities of an operator such as an association.
• Project grants are not awarded retrospectively for events, projects or expenses that have already taken place or been incurred.
• As a rule, the grant is not awarded to an association, working group or artist that already receives a grant from another grant category.
• The grant is awarded on a one-off basis. The grant does not support ongoing activities.
• At its discretion, the Cultural Committee may commit to funding a development project for several years, in which case a cooperation agreement will be drawn up.  

Quality of implementation and suitability for Fuuga’s programme

1. The way in which the grant recipient’s event is implemented is suitable for the activities and facilities of Music Centre Fuuga.
2. The content of the grant recipient’s event complements and diversifies Fuuga’s programme.
3. The grant recipient has set clear and well-founded qualitative objectives for the event. 
4. The grant recipient’s production/event plan is clear and realistic.
5. The grant recipient has sufficient professional and administrative capacity to organise the event.

• The grant applicant must attach to the application a preliminary agreement/booking confirmation with Fuuga concerning the organisation of the event, as well as a production/event plan.
• In the main application round in October, applications are submitted for grants for events taking place in the following year. In the supplementary application round in the spring, applications are submitted for grants for events taking place during the current year.
• If some of the planned costs are not incurred, the amount of the grant will be adjusted so that the proportion of actual eligible costs covered by the grant does not exceed the percentage awarded.
