Water aerobics and aqua running sessions are organised at the Petrelius swimming hall the during autumn and spring seasons.
Instructions for registering, schedule, and session descriptions
Seasonal spots
- There are also seasonal spots for water aerobics for sale at the beginning of the season.
- Register for the seasonal spot for the 45 minute water aerobics before the season begins through the online registration system Ilmari on the pre-announced date.
- Register for the seasonal spot for the 30 minute water aerobics in Petrelius swimming hall by calling or visiting on site.
- Some of the groups mainly consist of seasonal spots. Only a few single slots can be booked.
Single sessions
Sign up for a session through the online weekly calendar. The following week's sessions open for registration every Friday at 17.00.

Light Water Aerobics
- In the shallow end of the 25 m pool, water depth starting from 1.00 m, water temperature 27°C.
- 30-minute slightly lighter basic water aerobics class in the shallow end of the pool. Exercise options are provided so you can adjust the intensity of the session.
- Heart rate is raised and a variety of muscle-strengthening exercises engaging the whole body are performed.
- Also suitable for beginners and for participants with musculoskeletal issues or mobility limitations.
Vigorous Deep-Water Aerobics
- In the 25 m pool, water depth 1.00–2.20 m, water temperature 27°C.
- 45-minute vigorous deep-water aerobics class using buoyancy and resistance-increasing equipment.
- Heart rate is raised and a variety of muscle-strengthening exercises engaging the whole body are performed.
- Basic swimming ability is required.
- Suitable for those who have practiced water aerobics for a longer time and have a moderate level of basic fitness.
- You may also participate in the shallow end of the pool with your feet on the bottom.
Vigorous Water Running
- In the 25 m pool, water depth 1.00–2.20 m, water temperature 27°C.
- 45-minute vigorous water running class.
- Running is practiced using different techniques, heart rate is increased with interval sets, and muscle-strengthening exercises supporting running may also be included.
- Basic swimming ability is required.
- Water running belts provided by the facility are used; you may also use your own belt.
- Suitable for water running enthusiasts looking for a vigorous workout.
- Please remember to cancel your registration if, for any reason, you are unable to attend.
- You can cancel via the link included in the confirmation email or by calling the swimming supervision at +358 44 907 2702.
- The staff will contact those on the waiting list by email or phone if places become available.
- Any last-minute cancellations can also be inquired about by phone from the swimming supervision on the day of the class.

- Large TV display in the shallow end of the pool.
- Available for use with the standard entrance fee.
- The display is for shared use, and customers decide together, fairly, which program to run.
- The content includes a variety of versatile water aerobics and workout programs.
- Programs are selected using the remote control located at the poolside.
- The display is available at all times during public opening hours.
How to sign up for individual water aerobics sessions

1Choose the session you want in the weekly calendar
You can see the number of spots available by moving the cursor over the session. If there are spots available, you can open the registration form by clicking on the session.

3Save the information
Your sign up will only register for you, when you have saved the information.

4The system notifies you if you got a spot
The notification about a spot or a full group appears on the screen. You also get an email verification if you have given the correct email address.

5Show up
The instructor checks your attendance before the session starts and checks the fee from your wristband.
