When international students feel at home in Turku, they are more likely to return to the banks of Aurajoki river – or even to stay to live in the city after they have graduated.

The first season of The Friendship Programme, organised by Study in Turku, has started. Nearly 300 foreign students and residents of the Turku region registered for the programme.

Turku very attractive in the joint application process for higher education institutions
Turku attracted a large number of applicants in the second joint application process for higher education institutions in the spring. For the first time, the University of Turku was the most popular higher education institution in the entire country. Turku University of Applied Sciences and Åbo Akademi University of Applied Sciences also performed well.

Some Turku exchange students currently staying in hotels – in Hotel Forum the students have their own floor
Turku Student Village Foundation (TYS) did not have enough student housing for all exchange students arriving in Turku this autumn. Some of them are currently staying in local tourist accommodation. The exchange students staying at Hotel Forum are satisfied with the situation: ‘We have plenty of room here. I'm really happy.’
