The City of Turku invites young people to take part in climate action — because a Carbon Neutral Turku 2029 will be built together!
Turku has already made the greatest reductions in climate emissions among Finnish cities, but there is still much work to be done. To meet our climate goals, everyone in Turku needs to get involved. In 2025, the city is allocating approximately €80,000 in funding for climate-related projects planned and carried out by young people themselves.
Part of a Global Movement
The City of Turku encourages youth to participate in local climate action alongside 100 other cities around the world. These cities span 38 countries across six continents and represent more than 62 million residents.
In April 2024, Turku was selected as the only Finnish city to join an international climate fund called Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund, which supports youth-led climate initiatives across the globe.
