Vimma Art and Activity Centre offers art, activities and socialising for 10–28-year-olds in the city centre of Turku.

About Vimma

There's a lot you can do in Vimma: dig your fingers into clay, listen to gigs, relax in Kafé Vimma or even organise your own event!

Vimma's leisure activities are aimed at 10–28-year-olds. People of all ages are welcome at public events and as customers of Kafé Vimma.

Vimma is a safe space, which means creating a respectful and non-discriminatory atmosphere for all by following the safer space principles. Read the safer space principles here.

Vimma Art and Activity Centre is run by the City of Turku Youth Services.

What can you find in Vimma?

1st floor: customer service, Kafé Vimma, Yökahvila, Torin Kulma

On the first floor of Vimma you’ll find our customer service desk, the open-for-all Café Vimma, Night Café (Yökahvila) and Torin Kulma preventive family work.

The customer service desk in the lobby will help you with any questions you may have about the activities and the renting the facilities. You can pay your art workshop fees at the customer service desk, and you can also get a free youth card there.

2nd floor: Art workshops, Exhibitions, Theater, Meeting room

Art workshops and the art gallery of Vimma are located on the second floor. The theatre and meeting room can be rented for various events and functions.

3rd floor: The hall, Radio Vimma, Fendari Digi and Communication Workshop

On the third floor, you can watch shows and take part in events in the hall. Radio Vimma and Fendari Digi and Communication Workshop, which offers coaching sessions for young people, are located on the same floor.

4.kerros: Fendari Startup Workshop, Turku Boys' House

On the fourth floor, you will find Fendari Startup Workshop and Turku Boys' House, which offers open activities for boys and young men, taking gender diversity into account.

Accessibility

All floors of Vimma are accessible via an accessible lift. From the lift to the floors, you pass through fire doors that do not open automatically.

All floors have accessible and gender-neutral toilets.

The signage for the toilets and the buttons for opening and alarming the lift doors are also indicated in braille.

There is no induction loop in Vimma.

Accessible entrances

Entrance D
The entrance is accessed from Aurakatu, on the left side of the main entrance. The entrance is located behind the building. If the gate to the backyard is closed, please call Vimma's customer service and the gate will be opened. There is one accessible parking spot in the backyard, in front of the entrance. Access to the door is via a hard surface ramp. To enter, ring the doorbell.

Entrance E
The second entrance is located on Aurakatu, at the north end of the Vimma building. When you arrive at the gate at the end of the building, ring the doorbell using the button on the left. The staff will open the gate and the door leading to the lift.
